Audience:
This training workshop aims at inspiring early career scientists including advanced PhD students, postdocs, and Junior Faculty to use “big data” to address continental to global scale emerging issues in GHG science. We are seeking early-adopters who wish to broaden and deepen their knowledge or to identify new research opportunities dedicated to GHG research. This 10-day course will be offered to 20-24 participants, who are expected to know basic computer programming in at least one language. Students need to be sufficiently proficient in English.
Costs:
no fee, shared lodging and meals included
Participants are responsible for their own travel to Aix-en-Provence or Marseille in France, and for e.g. personally upgrade (private room or rental car). The venue is not reachable by public transport but a shuttle will be organised to reach the workshop venue from Aix-en-Provence (TGV) train stop or Marseille Airport (and return).

We plan to have a poster session, therefore prepare a poster (DinA0 portrait) to explain your research question and bring it to the workshop as a print-out.
Purpose:
The ICOS-NEON Carbon workshop 2015 will provide core knowledge of the scientific theory of atmospheric and ecosystem-level Carbon GreenHouse Gases, their process scales and role with the climate system, how to measure them, and how to use data in emerging applications requiring cross-scale data from different network. The course/workshop will build early-career users that will benefit from these techniques throughout their career, and be early adopters of ICOS, NEON and other network data.
To submit an application please provide (via online tool after registration):
